House building

After my family left Tim`s brother and dad helped us put the garage up. And that is how it sits now. There is a bonus room above the garage, so we need to get that built and put the roof on and then all the other trades can get in there and do their stuff. Hopefully it will be livable by Oct. 12 cuz that is when we have to be out of our house.

By noon on June 27, 4 days after the crew started the house, it looked like this. It was unreal the amount of work we got done. We started at 7 am and finished around 9:30 pm.

I preferred staying on solid ground but somebody had to put the rafters up. Tim is about 20 feet off the ground here as we start putting the rafters up.
On Friday morning June 23 the house had the floor joices in. Again I thank God for the gift of family. Our families pulled in Saturday and started building. Here my mom is in the background screwing the floor on and Tom and Tim are discussing what to do next.

Lane and Jesse had a lot of fun creating things with the scrap lying around. Here they had built a race car! The crew was getting ready to pour the basement

Both families have been soooo wonderful during this adventure with us. As you can see, it is just a tinsy bit wet out. My dad, brother and sister-in-law came up one day to help us set the footings for the house. It was a little bit difficult with the rain but we are also building the house on solid rock- so pounding pegs into rock is might bit difficult.
Tim is breaking ground for our new home. It was really exciting to watch. When he finished the hole looked soooo big, but now that the house is there it doesn't seem so big.

As I said before, I am not very good with this blog thing yet. This is Tim sitting on our septic tank for the house. He was a little disappointed when my brother Brian used it before him!!!
