So today I took the boys for a walk up to the farm. Connor wanted to walk so I let him but I didn't take the stroller cuz I didn't want to push it through the mud. So it took us about 45 minutes to walk uphill 3/4 mile. We hit every puddle on the way so Connor was soaking wet. We visited Granny and Daddy and headed home again. Previously on these types of walks Connor just runs home cuz it is all down hill. But not today. We got about 1/4 mile down the road and he wouldn't go any further. So there I was walking down the road with Kale on my front and a soaking wet & muddy Connor on my shoulders. What a site!!

Happy Birthday Connor!
My sister-in-law always makes fun cakes for her boys' birthdays. I thought I would copy her and do the same. Last year was a soccer ball cake. This year he wanted a train. I was bit disappointed with the icing job. But Beck gave me a hint, freeze the cake before icing it and that way you won't get the cake showing through. I had kit kats to make the track, but they weren't wide enough and the trains wouldfall over. The yellow car carried a tractor on it later.
This morning during his bath we were counting toys. He would say one, two and keep going one two. I reminded him of 3 then he said 4 and lunch. You see after every meal before he gets down he has to say "thanks for..." and "may I be excused please". I guess a 2 year old doesn't know there is more than one meaning of four/for.

It's in the Diaper
A little while ago I mentioned how Kale was waking up after napping for 40 minutes or so. I was working with him to learn to sleep through but I wasn't getting very far. I was even more confused cuz at night he would never do it. About 3 days ago he started sleeping properly through his naps. Then I realized why.... we changed diaper brands. We had bought a pack of fisher price diapers to try them out. The bag lasted about 2 weeks cuz I had a stash of pampers in or bathroom that I used at bedtime and during the night. Once I switched back to pampers during the day his naps have been 2 hours again without interruption. Yay!!!!!

Spring Play
Yesterday the boys & I took the 2 hour drive to mom & dads for a visit. My sister only lives 30 min. from m&ds so she takes the boys out once a week. My brothers are both on the farm everyday working. I don't want my boys to miss time with their aunts, uncles and cousins so we went for a visit. I think spring thaw is the funnest time to play on the farm. There is water everywhere as these pictures will show.
Connor likes the trampoline but isn't so sure about it with his bigger cousins jumping at the same time. He held my hands from the edge and jumped like crazy though.

Chore Time
Now as an adult and parent myself I value the importance of work ethic that my parents gave to me and my siblings. I know Connor will only be 2 at the end of the month but I figured it isn't too early to have a little responsibility. That being said here is a list of Connor's chores:
1) Get the container, fill it with dog food, dump in Sadie's dish and then return container to the dog food.
2) When there is a dirty diaper, either his or Kale's, he takes it to the garbage.
3) Help mom or dad empty the dishwasher. He is super good at this one.
4) Take the string that is cut off the bales during chores with daddy and take them to the garbage. Tim informed me today that he gets right ticked off if you try and help him with this one.
5) Clean up toys.
Oh how God has blessed us!!
Kale is 6 weeks today. We had his doctors appt on Friday and he weighed 11 lbs 11 oz. He is doing great except he is starting to wake up after about 40 - 50 minutes of napping. I ssshh him back to sleep and sometimes hold him for a bit and he'll finish his hour and half to two hour nap. But I don't know why he is waking up. I am open to any ideas or suggestions??

Us
"Mommy I patient" while I am getting his breakfast ready. But I don't think he understands the meaning cuz right away he started whining for his "cinnmn bread".
"I want pretzels" when I asked him what kind of snack he wants. "More pretzels please" followed soon after.
Tim combed his hair on Sunday morning and when he finished Connor said "I handsome".
He'll copy anything we ask him to say. Tim and I get quite a kick out of getting him to say some things. My favorite is how he says awesome in the right context even.
Most days he can count to 3. The other day he pulled 3 juice boxes out of the pantry and kept counting them to me. Sometimes he gets stuck at 2.
