5 Boys = Lots of Fun!

Friday afternoon I decided to go to Big Hill Springs for a hike. Connor loves doing things with his cousins so we took them with us. It was quite the sight when we all got out of the truck. Connor loves hiking and ran most of the time again. However, Damon loves being the fastest and Connor couldn't quite keep up to his 6 year old cousin. Everytime Damon was gaulking at something and Connor passed him I said "Oh look Connor is winning" and Damon would quickly run ahead making a game of it. Jesse and Lane are so patient and kind with Connor. Someone asked if it was just me and the boys and how much work that would have been. But it was so much fun. I barely had to do anything. Just made me wish we did more things like this more often.

After our hike we headed into Cochrane to McDonalds for supper. The original plan was to go hiking and then get a donut and come home. But due to my boys napping till 4:30 we ran into supper hour. I got some pretty weird looks at McDonalds when people realized I was by myself with 5 boys. During supper Damon asked me if we were still going to get that donut. How can an Aunt say no to him? So the boys got donuts on the way home.

The boys have hiked it several times and knew lots of cool places to go off the trail. We didn't have much time cuz we got away late or they would have showed us more.

Connor & I had to take a different route than the other boys cuz theirs was too steep for me carrying Kale and helping Connor. But we found a good picture spot.

Connor and I had a difficult day on Monday. Every chance to get him out of the house I did. Both the boys absolutely love watching the haying crew. Connor loves riding with his dad in the bale wagon. Kales eyes get super big and watch everything without blinking.

My Little Men

While I was feeding Kale the other day Connor insisted that he help. He is always wanting to help me do whatever I am doing. One of his favorites is picking peas and feeding them to Sadie. She only gets the overripe ones. He likes picking raspberries but he won't eat them just squishes them. I've put a veto on that one.

Lovin' the sunshine.

I was busy in the kitchen the other day and a certain 2 year would not let me get anything done. So I found this jug and told him to fill it with rocks. He was thrilled. He didn't get it full before he was making his own game up with the jug, rocks, swimming pool, and Sadie.

Tim was baling on the Randoff quater Saturday afternoon. A quater of ours that is famous for rocks. After riding with Tim for a bit the boys and I went exploring the rocks. This rock was pulled a couple springs ago. I think it took 3 tractors and the hoe to get it out.

Another rock that was pulled out. Very tall and fun to climb. Might make a good family picture rock this fall.

After our naps on Sunday I got Tim to take some pictures of the boys and me. I really wanted Tim to be in the pictures but he was already in his work clothes and didn't want to change again.

Tim finally helped me get the dirt in the front flower bed that I made last fall. I am so excited to buy flowers for it but am holding back cuz I want the weeds to get big and give them a blast of roundup. Anyways Kale was quite content for nearly 1 1/2 hr just sitting on the grass playing with it. He reminded me a "little Murray" (my dad) with his button up shirt and "tilley" hat on.

Terry Fox Run

As many of you know I participate in a triathlon every year in Sundre. The triathlon was cancelled this year so I got looking into getting into another one. It was difficult to find one that was on a Sunday (so my family could be there with me) and that didn't cost too much. In the end I decided to participate in the Terry Fox Run with my boys and put my entry fee towards cancer research. It is a 10 km run so it will be a great challenge pushing the boys. I run about 6 km on our gravel roads right now with them. So I am hoping that having a month to train and running on pavement will ease the challenge a little bit. I am hoping to have Tim join us on his bike as running right now for him is not a good thing. I am hoping to raise $500 for cancer research in the process. If you feel you can support us please go to http://my.e2rm.com/personalPage.aspx?SID=3087664&Lang=en-CA . Thank you!

Catchin' Up

The weather has been so nice I haven't felt up to sitting in front of the computer to update our blog. Tim has been busy (or trying) haying. The silly rain showers they predict everyday put a hamper on things. Since I can't be part of the haying crew on the field I have taken the post of feeding the crew. Last week, the boys and I took the meals out to the field. The crew was baling about 10 min east of home and had to tarp the stacks when they were done stacking. They don't stop to eat anything until they are done for the day and when they are tarping that usually means 10 pm. So having the meal out at the field allowed them to get some nourishment when they had a break. Connor loved being able to ride with Grandma and Daddy.

The boys are getting along great. Every night when I give Kale his bath Connor is stripping down to jump in with him. Now he won't have a bath without Kale. Tonight in their bath Connor wouldn't stop kissing Kale. Too cute!!

Many afternoons are spent playing in pool outside. Connor and Sadie play out there and are inseperatable.

This is Kale's new favorite place to play. I just load the sink with toys and he plays away. Lets me get lots of work done in the kitchen that way.

This past Saturday, my nephew Gavin turned 3. So we headed down to Cat Creek Falls for a little hike and weiner roast. It was a 2 hour drive there and back. But it was so beautiful driving through the mountains. It really sucks being so far from my family but I don't want to miss out on my nephews and niece growing up so I am willing to drive to do that.

Always willing to give a smile.

The hike we did was a small one so the kids could do it; 1.5 km up and 1.5 km down. At the end was a little water fall. Connor ran both ways and didn't really stop. Owen (the oldest) kept telling him to stop running. But Connor didn't listen. I guess my walking everywhere possible this summer is wearing off on him. He was so tired on theway home both boys slept giving me lots of time to think and pray.

The boys were so excited to get pop. Owen didn't move from his chair until his pop was done.

Papa absolutely loves his grandboys. He is so good at spending time with Connor when we are there.

Special times with Gram. Kale has already mastered drinking from a cup and loves water on a warm day.
