Happy Birthday Connor

Yes I am a day late but none the less, Happy Birthday Connor. He was so excited for his birthday this year, counting down the days and informing me at least 3 times a day how many days till his big day.
Some of my favorite times with Connor are walking him down to the bus and picking him up at the end of the driveway every day.  It still baffles me sometimes to think he is in school everyday.  Usually it is just he and I walking the lane - perfect time to chat!  We cherish these long weekends when we can have him at home.

Connor has excelled at hockey this year.  He lives and breaths for the game.  Having the ice right outside our doorstep this year was an added bonus.  I thoroughly love watching him skate and play hockey.  Even though he was the youngest and smallest on his team this year it didn't stop him from digging and skate up and down and across the ice as many times as he could in a shift.  Hockey games in the basement with dad are still a night time ritual.
Although he is at school everyday he still enjoys to be on the farm.  Not as much as before but whenever he is there he loves it.
Some of his best friends are his cousins - especially Damon.  Even though there is 4 years age difference the two of them play like best buds.
This was from his first day at school.  He has come so far since that day.  That first month had me worried but he loves going to school now and is advancing great in everything he tries.
Connor is a fabulous big brother.  Usually watching out for his siblings and helping me out with them.  Kale and Lexi adore him.

Always an outside guy.  If he can be outside playing he usually is.
What do you get a kid who loves hockey and has almost every hockey toy out there?  A soccer ball.  He was very excited to get the ball and had to try it out right away.
Connor is obsessed with candy (Just ask Caitlyn at the arena concession!!), so we incorporated it into his cake.  What better than a treasure chest spewing candy?  He loved it.  It was definitely trick to get the lid to stay put but we managed.

Of course it is an added bonus when Easter is the same weekend as your birthday.  They had a blast looking for eggs this morning.

Happy Birthday Connor.
