This past weekend my family came out to our place, minus Pam`s husband Bryant. (He had a lot of marking for school to do) My youngest brother, Dave, had his birthday last week. It has always been a family tradition to have any supper we wanted on our birthday. So I cooked my first turkey supper and I would have to say it turned out pretty good. We are still eating leftovers. But before we enjoyed the feast we went out to the Kananaskis and went cross country skiing. Us kids went skiing, while mom and dad walked around Kananaskis village. Mom and dad are exhausted from rebuilding the two barns so they just wanted to enjoy the beautiful day without racing. When us kids get together to do an activity the Markert competitive streak comes out and we all want to do better than the other! By the way the one barn is back in working condition, and the other is well on its way. Everybody left right after dinner and about an hour after they left Tim and I were ready for bed. It is amazing what skiing 11 km and eating turkey does to you!!!!!
We are so blessed to have the family live in such close proximity to each other, so that these times aren`t only once a year!
