This past weekend we headed east of Medicine Hat to Maple Creek for my cousins wedding. The Markert side of the family seems to only get together when there are weddings. And it looks like it will be a while till we get another one. So this one was cherished. Maple Creek is in the middle of the prairies and usually brown as can be. But they have had a lot of rain this year so Aunt Janice`s yard was beautiful. My cousin Julie has always been a farm girl to the core. So it wasn`t a big surprise when she got married on the farm. It was a beautiful afternoon too.

Uncle Graham (my dads brother), Aunt Janice, Julie and John.

This is the whole family. They all looked gorgeous.

We thought about getting a sibling picture at the hall. There weren`t very many nice places to get a picture; hence the fire extinguisher. From the right the oldest and the brides` father Graham, followed by Shirley, Gavin, Ron, and my dad. Dad should actually be beside Gavin as Ronnie is the youngest. As I mentioned earlier we don`t get together that often so we thought we better capture a picture.

We stayed at Cypress Hills (Saskatchewan side) and man it was beautiful. Your driving along the prairies and then go down a big hill and you feel like you are in the mountains surrounded by lodge pole pines. It is breathtaking. This is the view from the top of Cypress Hills. You can see 100 km out there from this view point. The hill we were standing on was straight gravel as far as 165 meters of it in fact!!

Tim hates it when I get just him in a photo, so this is for him.
