No they weren`t from my dads place, they were found wondering the highway about 10 minutes from Cremona!! Recently the county came around to a couple of farmers and asked if their names could be on a police contact list if livestock were out on highway 22. So 11 pm last Friday night we were visiting with my sister and her husband and we get a call that there are 4 pigs on the highway and if we could come and help catch them. What do you do with a pig on the highway? There are no farms around and you can`t just chase them into a fenced pasture. So off Tim and Bryant go. So together with 3 policemen and 2 others, they attempt to catch these critters. They were pretty small and fast and only 2 of the 7 new how to chase pigs so let your imagination wander!
The first one they caught the one cop was standing feet apart ready to tackle this thing once it got close. But pigs don`t just come towards you and when you decide to make your move you have to do it fast. So needless to say, the cop ended up on his butt. So Bryant took off after this thing so it didn`t get on a highway (cuz it was the long weekend and rv`s everywhere) and decided to dive. Tim said all he could see was Bryant flying through the air and when he landed he had the pigs hind feet. One down, 3 to go.
They all regrouped and headed towards the other pigs. 2 got away and went into a fence. A few went looking for them but it was pitch black and they couldn`t find it. So Tim went after the last pig. He was hauling and decided to trip the pig so he could catch it. Well he was just about to catch it and the one cop was not paying attention at all and Tim plowed into him. They got themselves together and cornered the pig against one of the cop cars and caught it. So the county councillor put them in her truck and was going to contact the county in the morning to figure out what to do with the darn pigs.
How many people can say they plowed into a cop on duty and end up laughing about it with the cop?!
