Oct 6, 2014: We finally started combining. We upgraded our combine this year and part of the deal was John Deere would do a performance check - basically everything would be checked and we could just drive the combine onto the field without lifting a finger. Well we tried to combine on Saturday but the combine didn't work. They had a mechanic out to fix it and tried combining again but then a bunch of sensors went off. So finally after a second trip for the mechanic we got going yesterday morning. The kids and I decided to check it out and walked up to the field.
I love this road in the fall.
Due to all the snow we had in early September the crops are FLAT. Swathing is a nightmare and occasionally it plugs up. Once combined the piles are a ton of fun to play in.

We are very thankful that the rain has held off this week. Please continue to pray for the farmers and the weather. This season is taking a toll on them all.
